George E. Boring Jr., Parish Administrator

                              Picture
I am a native of York, Pennsylvania.  I graduated from Red Lion Area High School, in Red Lion, Pennsylvania in June of 1971and then enlisted in the United States Navy on March 7, 1971 and served for the next 24 years as a Boiler Technician on naval ships and as a Religious Program Specialist, retiring September 16, 1995 at the rank of Chief Petty Officer (E-7).  While serving in the Navy, I attended Johnson & Wales University receiving an Associate of Science Degree in Culinary Arts, graduating Cum Laude, class of 1988.

Since retiring from the Navy, I have worked as a chef for ten years with Marriott & Sheraton Hotels, 700 Club, several country clubs and conference centers, and a corporate dining service company.  I then took up administrative work again and have remained in that area of work.

In my spare time I like cooking and gardening.  I am also involved in a project in the northeast section of the city as chairman of the York Street Community Center, Inc.  This is a 56,000 square foot building we are trying to renovate for the community to use as a gathering place, latchkey program, and tutoring programs for adults and children.

In 1975 I married the former Crystal B. McWilliams, of Brogueville, PA.  (We went through high school together.)  We now reside in Mount Wolf, PA.
