Celebrating the Christmas Season at Union

Blue Christmas Live-stream Worship: Tuesday, Dec. 21, at 7 p.m. (in the building and on livestream)
While Advent is a season of hope and Christmas is a season of joy, not everyone feels hopeful or like celebrating, especially in the year of COVID-19. Grief, illness, sadness, loneliness, struggle, and loss can feel much harder during the holidays. Even those who are not struggling with losses may feel the stress of preparations and expectations around Christmas time.

Longest Night/Blue Christmas is a time and space of comfort and relief during the often hectic days surrounding the celebration of Christmas. We come together seeking healing and offering each other room to share grief, sadness, loneliness, or confusion when these emotions often feel out of place during the holidays.
